I usually I hold off on forming an opinion on new information leaking from Corocoro scans until Nintendo officially announces it in English, but getting home tonight and seeing those scans popping up all over the internet, I've been trying so hard to reserve my judgement, but I just can't. THOSE MEGAEVOLUTIONS LOOK TERRIBLE!!!

There really is nothing original about any of them, just a set of solid designs, regurgitated with; wigs, ribbons and nipple tassels attached. (Poor Ampharos with its ridiculous Fabio hairstyle). The Pokemon selection is odd to say the least, a random starter, a legendary and mixture of single and evolved Pokemon, why? I just cringe at the idea of more 'mons undergoing this emo-ification process.


They give off a really cheap 'milkingthefranchise' vibe, and they shouldn't! Pokemon is one of the strongest franchises around! Nintendo have managed to repackage the animal kingdom and evolution and sell it back to children, they have the whole of the natural and man-made world to chose from, yet they've chosen to pointlessly redesign some great looking Pokemon, it adds nothing to them! In the same way that when toy manufactures want to extend/cash in on a licensed toy franchise, but have no more source material to work with, they just make up some random bat-shit features and stick them on a character that doesn't need them, so you get creations like;

Arctic Fusion Batman

Electro-Ranger Buzz Lightyear

Magnetic Wipeout Dora the Explorer

Thats what it feels like, the whole thing feels like a cheapening of the franchise, with is a real shame. I want to like them, and I'm trying so darn hard to hold off until we get some concrete details about them, but they look so nasty. I just pray to God that these things will be event exclusives, or can only used in a certain location. One thing is know for sure, from now on 'til the end of time the internet is going to be awash with appalling fanart of 'Mai favorite Pokemon in MegGARRRR Evolution.

The three new Pokemon look awesome by the way, right? Digging the electric rodent, love that this has become a staple of each generation's 'Dex. Anyone else think the Rabbit has a Golden Age Sonic the Hedgehog thing going on?
